Ngannou explained why he switched to boxing from MMA

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou told why he decided to focus on performing in professional boxing.

“When I was growing up, I always loved boxing. But I didn’t have the opportunity to play this sport because I lived in Africa. And then, when I moved to Europe, I didn’t box for more than ten years. I wanted to box, but I didn’t have the opportunity, and then MMA appeared on the horizon.

For me, boxing is a step to take a step forward and then build a career as a boxer. “I’ve always had that desire,” Francis said in an interview with DAZN Boxing.

Let us remember that in October last year, Ngannou made his debut in the professional ring, losing by split decision to Tyson Fury. On March 8, the Cameroonian will fight against Anthony Joshua.
