Cejudo admitted that he was joking about the coach's dismissal

Recently, former UFC champion in two weight categories Henry Cejudo shook up the mixed martial arts world by publicly announcing the dismissal of his long-time coach Eric Albarracin ahead of his fight against Merab Dvalishvili.

This was plausible enough considering that Cejudo is likely in the twilight of his career at 37 years old and is openly contemplating retiring from the sport (again).

As it turned out, Henry's sensational statement turned out to be an ordinary prank:

“We bought it! We are like Jordan and Jackson, like Brady and Belichick. We started together, we will finish together. The King of Crinja is back in action,” Cejudo wrote in X.

Let us remind you that the fight between Cejudo and Dvalishvili will be part of the UFC 298 tournament, which will take place on the night of February 18 in Anaheim, USA.
