Former interim UFC lightweight champion Dustin Poirier denied his own words that his fight with Benoit Saint Denis will not take place on March 9 at the UFC 299 tournament in Miami, USA.

The day before, “Diamond” unexpectedly announced the cancellation of the fight. According to the American, the reason for this statement was a misunderstanding with the manager.

“Sorry guys, I was in a hurry. For several days I couldn’t get through to the manager. Finally just talked to him. There was a misunderstanding on my part. The fight will take place! See you March 9th, Miami!” — Poirier wrote in X.

Let us remember that Poirier has not appeared in the Octagon since July last year, when he lost to Justin Gaethje by knockout.
