“Max doesn’t like competing at lightweight. He moved up to lightweight to fight Dustin Poirier and was defeated on his feet, on his own turf. These guys were on their feet, and Max proved that he was very tough, he moved forward, but could not find his rhythm. Dustin outplayed him the entire fight. As soon as his fight with Justin Gaethje was announced, I said, “Gaethje is too big, too strong, too tough, and yet he’s comfortable at lightweight. Gaethje is a completely different type of fighter on the feet than Poirier. Poirier's hands and boxing are underrated, but Gaethje is durable, tough, a real hard worker, and that's something else entirely. We have a really interesting fight ahead of us,” Sonnen said.
Let us remind you that the confrontation between Gaethje and Holloway will take place within the framework of UFC 300.
