Bivol: “The topic of a rematch with Alvarez is closed”

WBA world light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol stated that at this stage of his career he is not interested in a re-fight with the owner of all belts in the second middle division Saul Alvarez.

“Saul has titles, and that’s why I wanted to fight him. But now we have other plans, and we will follow them, and we will see. Perhaps this will happen in the future. However, right now I am focused on becoming the undisputed light heavyweight champion. This is more realistic than another fight... I hope I will fight for all the titles in my category, because the topic of a rematch with Canelo is now closed,” Boxing Scene quotes Bivol as saying.

Let us remember that in May 2022, Bivol defeated Alvarez by unanimous decision.
