Jones called the only way for Davis to beat Haney in the fight

World boxing legend Roy Jones shared his thoughts on a possible fight between the WBC world champion in junior welterweight Devin Haney and WBA title holder in the lightweight division Gervonta Davis.

“To be honest, it’s fair to fight at junior welterweight because Haney went up there and won the championship. So if you arrange this fight, it would be better in the first welterweight division. Everyone wants to get an edge because they know Haney is getting big enough. Talk to Turki Al ash-Sheikh and he will make this fight worthwhile.

They both have very high boxing IQs and this is a fight the world deserves to see at junior welterweight. If Davis doesn't stop Haney, then he shouldn't beat him because Devin is younger and bigger. So I see that “Tank” can only win by knockout. I don't think he'll be able to outbox Haney, but there's no telling because Davis has a lot of tricks up his sleeve. However, I don’t see him outboxing Haney,” Jones said.
