Makhachev's manager denied White's words about the fighter's injury

Ali Abdel-Aziz, manager of the UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhacheva, denied the words of promotion general director Dana White, who had previously stated that due to injury, Islam would not be able to enter the Octagon before Ramadan.

“The conversation was about Islam performing on March 9, but the UFC already has a headliner, Sean O’Malley. They said Shawn would be the one to fight in the main event. We were offered to fight in February, but it’s too early. Now he will just wait for Ramadan to end. Or maybe tomorrow the matchmakers will call and say that O’Malley is out and they need us on March 9.”
