Three-time UFC light heavyweight title contender Alexander Gustafsson has returned to training and is leaving the door open for a potential return to the Octagon.

“Now I will spend more time in the gym, focus on myself and my training and thus get back into shape,” Gustafsson said in an interview with Frontkick Online. — I don’t think so much about performances. If it happens, it will happen, time will tell.

If there is a suggestion, let's talk about it. I have a contract with the UFC. I've been in the UFC since 2009, so a lot of time has passed. I'm still in business. If I fight, it will be in the UFC."

Gustafsson was last seen in action in July 2022, when he returned to light heavyweight after one fight in the heavyweight category. He was knocked out in the first round by Nikita Krylov. For the 36-year-old Swede, this was the sixth defeat in a row.
