American veteran of the UFC featherweight division Josh Emmett commented on the upcoming title fight between the champion in this category Alexander Volkanovski and undefeated challenger Ilia Topuria.
“Volkanovski is one of the best pound-for-pound champions. He continues to improve and constantly proves people wrong. People say every time: “Okay, now he’s definitely going to lose.” Now he has reached a position where he has earned respect.
But Elijah is hungry, young and talented. I know he makes a lot of big claims, like he'll knock Alex out in the first round. This may be an underestimation, but I don’t think so. It's just part of his personality. I don’t know how everything will end, but it’s difficult for me to bet against such a dominant champion,” MMA Junkie quotes Emmett.
The Volkanovski-Emmett fight will be the main event of UFC 298, which will take place on February 17 in Anaheim.
