Jose Ramirez joins Golden Boy

Former World Super Lightweight Champion Jose Ramirez (28-1, 18 KOs) will soon sign a contract with Golden Boy Promotions, ending his multi-year association with Top Rank.

The American last boxed in March last year, winning Richard Commey. Ramirez was recently in talks about a fight with Teofimo Lopez, but ultimately the parties did not reach an agreement.

Ramirez is expected to return to the ring in the spring. This year the American has planned to hold at least two professional fights.
