Former IBF cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaya said that he always looked up to another ex-division leader Mairis Briedis, but everything changed due to the Latvian’s reluctance to hold a rematch.
“Mairis Briedis refused to fight me. He lost my respect. I used to look up to this guy, especially at the beginning of my journey in cruise ship. Once I gave him my word for a rematch, but he never came back,” Boxing Social quotes the Australian.
Let us remember that in July last year Opetaja defeated Briedis by unanimous decision.
