Rizin FF President Nobuyuki Sakakibara admits that the legendary Brazilian ex-UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva can hold his farewell fight under the banner of his promotion.
“Anderson performed with us; we have a long-standing relationship. Yes, we discussed a possible fight with him, but... If he has any ideas, then our doors are open. We're always open to suggestions and if something makes sense, we'll make it happen.
This is one of Rizin's concepts - to give legendary fighters a platform to have a farewell fight, respectfully seeing them off into retirement. We could one day give Silva a match that will please the old school fans,” the MMA Fighting functionary quotes.
Let us remember that the 48-year-old Silva competed in mixed martial arts from 1997 to 2020, winning 34 victories and suffering 11 defeats during this period.
