“There are two weight categories between us. To be honest, this is a huge gap. I'm not a good enough boxer to move up two weight classes and fight super heavyweights. I know that there have been cases in history when light heavyweights rose higher and fought with heavyweights, but I don’t remember their names. I’m an ordinary boxer,” Beterbiev said in an interview with the YouTube channel Fight Hub TV.
It is noteworthy that two years ago Beterbiev announced his readiness to rise to heavyweight for the sake of a fight with Usik. Then the Chechen, competing under the Canadian flag, expressed doubt that the Ukrainian would accept this challenge.
