Oscar De La Hoya confirmed that negotiations have begun on organizing a fight between the WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) and Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs).
According to the head of Golden Boy Promotions, the negotiations are taking place in a good atmosphere and reaching an agreement should not be a big problem. The fight is tentatively scheduled for April in the United States and will be shown on pay-per-view.
For Garcia, this will be the first fight for a world title in his career, and for Haney, it will be the first defense of the World Boxing Council belt, won in early December in a fight with Regis Prograis.
