One of the trainers of the former interim UFC lightweight champion Tony Ferguson David Goggins fully supports the opinion of experts and fans that it is time for his charge to retire.
The former title holder in two UFC divisions spoke about this Daniel Cormier in an episode on his YouTube channel:
“We didn’t even expect Tony to last the whole fight, so I give him credit. But David Goggins, who was seconding him, came up to us at the end of the fight and said: “Tony needs to retire after this.” I asked: “Will he finish?” David replied: “I don’t know.”
On this we agree with each other: perhaps it’s time for Tony to hang up his gloves. Although his heart and mind say to continue, he clearly has problems with timing. Ferguson is not the same anymore.”
Let us remind you that last weekend at the UFC 296 tournament in Las Vegas, “El Cucuy” lost by unanimous decision to Paddy Pimblett. For the 39-year-old American, this was the seventh defeat in a row.
