Pimblett: 'Ferguson is a true legend of our sport'

British UFC lightweight prospect Paddy Pimblett shared his emotions after defeating the former interim champion Tony Ferguson at the UFC 296 tournament.

“Today I fought a legend. Tony is a true legend of our sport. It was a huge honor for me to share the Octagon with him. How did he survive the first round? I was exhausted trying to finish it.

Grappling was part of my plan for the fight. I haven’t demonstrated my skills on the ground yet, so today we decided to show them in action. When on top, I'm like a blanket. You can’t throw me off,” the Briton said after the fight.

Let us remember that Pimblett defeated Ferguson by unanimous decision. The 39-year-old “El Cucuy” repeated the UFC anti-record, losing for the seventh time in a row.
