In fairness, it should be noted that the boxer from Liverpool actually owned a secondary WBA "regular" champion belt. He got it thanks to an away win over Tyrone Tsoige (TKO 5), but lost it in the first defense to Saul Alvarez.
Former super middleweight champion Rocky Fielding (28-2, 15 KOs) successfully returned to the ring. 32-year-old Briton knocked out in the second round Abdallah Paziwapazi (26-7-1, 23 KOs) in a fight that was the main event of the boxing evening in Liverpool.
Saul Alvarez (51-1-2, 25 KO) defeated Rocky Fielding (27-2, 15 KO) by technical knockout in the third round in the main event of the evening in New York, winning the WBA super middleweight belt. Before the end of the fight, the Englishman was four times on the floor.
