British UFC fighter Paddy Pimblett harshly criticized the current lightweight champion Ilia Topuria, stating that if the Spaniard of Georgian descent does not return to the octagon soon, he should voluntarily relinquish the belt.
"They say Ilia will not return for at least a year. Some say it could drag on for two years due to potential problems. If he is going to be out of the game for that long, I would prefer that he just leave and stop hindering the division's development," said Pimblett in a recent podcast with Tom Aspinall.
Let us recall that due to Topuria's personal problems (including divorce and related issues), the UFC decided to hold an interim title fight: on January 24 at UFC 324 in Las Vegas, USA, Pimblett will face Justin Gaethje.
