Charles Oliveira shared his viewpoint on the possible mega fight between the current UFC champions, Islam Makhachev and Ilia Topuria.
In Oliveira's opinion, Makhachev has only one path to victory: "Get into the clinch and perform a takedown. Topuria, on the other hand, possesses incredible striking power, and it's not just because he knocked me out. It was the hardest hit I've ever felt. However, I haven't seen his actions in clinch or on the ground.
If the fight goes standing, Topuria will knock out Makhachev. But if Islam can take Ilia down, he will be able to submit him. It's difficult to predict this fight, but to take down Topuria, Makhachev will need to get close, which is very risky given Topuria's punching power," said the Brazilian.
It is assumed that the super fight between the UFC champions in lightweight and featherweight could take place this summer as part of a historic tournament planned for June near the White House.
Charles Oliveira will return to the octagon on March 7 at UFC 326 in Las Vegas, where he will attempt to take the BMF belt from Max Holloway in the main event of the evening.
