Former UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley spoke about his defeat in the rematch against current title holder Merab Dvalishvili.
Last weekend at UFC 316 in Newark, USA, the American lost to the Georgian by submission in the third round.
“God, it was strange. It didn’t feel like the grip was tight. I thought he had stopped, and then, yes, he tightened it quickly, and I thought, ‘Oh, damn.’ I didn’t realize how much time was left [until the end of the round]. I needed to focus more on defense instead of trying to get up. But no excuses,” O’Malley stated on his YouTube channel.
