Tim Welch, the coach of former UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley, admits that in the future his protégé may continue his career in the featherweight division.
“Moving to featherweight is definitely possible. Sean is 180 cm tall, and his usual weight is 73 kg. If we spend about six to seven months to add a couple of kilos of muscle, he can easily compete with most featherweights,” quotes Welch BJ Penn.
Let’s remember that on June 7, in the main event of UFC 316 in Newark, USA, O’Malley will have a rematch with Merab Dvalishvili, to whom he lost the title in September last year.
