Jones: "In heavyweight I would have beaten Cormier even harder than I did in light heavyweight"

UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones is confident that he would have defeated his former opponent Daniel Cormier even within his current category.

Let’s remember that Jones and Cormier shared the octagon twice in light heavyweight. Jon won the first fight by unanimous decision, and the second by technical knockout. However, the result of the rematch was annulled due to a positive doping test for Jones.

"Peak Jones against peak Cormier in heavyweight? I believe I would have beaten Daniel much harder than I did in light heavyweight. I feel my speed has transitioned well into heavyweight, which cannot be said for him. I think I would have battered him even more severely. Yes, his punches have become stronger, but my kicks have always been stronger and have become even more powerful in heavyweight. You saw what my kicks did in fights with him," said Jones in an interview with Jeffrey Wu.
