Topuria: "Makhachev knows that I will beat him"

Former UFC champion in the featherweight division Ilia Topuria explained why the lightweight champion Islam Makhachev is hesitating to take a fight with him.

“I don’t want to say that he is afraid, because for all fighters stepping into the octagon is a usual practice. But I think Makhachev is being cautious. There is only one reason why he doesn’t want to fight me — he knows that I will beat him.

I think Makhachev is trying to change weight, he is looking for a new challenge. But he hasn’t had the courage that I have,” Topuria stated on the show El Hormiguero.
