Former interim UFC lightweight champion Justin Gaethje shared his expectations for his rematch with Rafael Fisiev, which will take place on the night of Feb. 9 at UFC 313 in Las Vegas, USA.
"I don't think this fight will be much different from the first fight. I think Fiziev has some of the best skills in striking technique and is one of the most dynamic punchers in our division. I believe it will follow a similar script. I need to control his movements, set the pace and have faith in my cardio. I've worked so hard, and my confidence that I can move at a high pace for all fifteen minutes will be key.
If you remember Gatji competing in the World Series of Fighting, that's exactly what you're going to see. But just a better version of him, because my skills are much better now than they were back then. That's my mindset for this fight," said Gaethje in an interview with Shak MMA.
Recall that the first fight between Gatji and Fiziev took place in March 2023 and ended with a victory of the American on points.
