Brazilian UFC veteran Gilbert Burns praised Paul Hughes' performance in his bout with Usman Nurmagomedov.

Last weekend the Irishman gave a serious fight to the Dagestani, losing by majority decision in a competitive encounter. At stake was the PFL lightweight belt belonging to the latter.

"I think this fight was watched. And it turned out great - Khabib as a trainer, great fight. I thought there was a draw there. The PFL should organize a rematch as soon as possible. It was a hard fought fight, a real war.

Paul Hughes is a monster. I saw his sparring sessions with Topuria, they were very competitive. Hughes was offered to move to the UFC, but the PFL offered a lot more money. And now Hughes' stock has skyrocketed. Michael Chandler moved to the UFC and immediately fought the tops. If Hughes keeps this up, he could be a superstar," Burns said on the Show Me The Money podcast.
