Former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker commented on rumors of a bout between higher division belt holder Alex Pereira and Hamzat Chimaev.
"Who's going to win? Chimaev - easy. Wait, not so easy. But I'm still picking Chimaev. Khamzat is good at what he does best. He builds off his strengths. But if Chimaev gets tired even a little bit and slows down.... Pereira won't slow down. He can knock you out in your sleep. He's been doing it all his life, so he'll kill Chimaev in the stand-up.
In Hamzat's fight with Usman, it looked like Kamaru was taking his own in the standup as Chimaev was a little tired. That won't be the case with Pereira, he destroys his opponent at the first sign of weakness. But will the fight get to that point?" - Whittaker stated on the MMArcade podcast.
