Makhachev - on Topuria: "I'm tired of giving small guys a chance"

UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev said he is not interested in a fight with undercard titleholder Elijah Topuria.

"I'm tired of giving the smaller guys a chance. I want my second belt. There's nothing enticing about it. He's a good fighter, he's got good skills, but I don't want to give him a chance. A fight for what? It's nothing to me. Only his name - and I do not need his name, I need the belt", - said Makhachev at a press conference.

Recall that on January 18 in the main event of UFC 311 in Los Angeles, USA, Makhachev will defend his belt against Arman Tsarukyan.
