UFC CEO Dana White has announced that he will not be organizing a fight between heavyweight champion Jon Jones and lower division titleholder Alex Pereira.

Tonight at UFC 309 in New York, USA, Jones made his first title defense by knocking out Stipe Miocic.

"You know what conclusion I drew from the Jones vs. Miocic fight? That the Jones - Pereira fight doesn't even make sense to even make. Jon is too healthy, he's a great wrestler. Did you see the way he threw Stipe in the first round?

I like Pereira, and I don't see the point of pitting him against John. I'll only consider this fight if they're both so eager to fight that they follow me around. Pereira is at the height of his fame, what's the point of him moving up to heavyweight for a fight against a bigger guy who's a great fighter? Money? Hmmm, you're right," White said at the press conference.
