UFC featherweight champion Elijah Topuria commented on his win over former belt holder Max Holloway in the main event of UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
"Thank God. He gives me everything I have. To beat a legend like Holloway ... I can't believe it. I've followed him, he's inspired me throughout my career. Max was a great role model for a whole generation. And I'm the face of the next generation of UFC fighters. I hope I can be at least half as much of an example as Max was.
I threw a lot of punches at him, but when I hit him with my right, it was clearly visible. I could see in his face that he was stunned. He started to step backwards, and Max Holloway rarely ever steps backwards. My brother shouted from the corner for me to go get him. I ended up getting my knockout," Topuria stated.
Recall that Topuria knocked out Holloway in the third round.
