Chandler promises to defeat Makhachev in early 2025

Former UFC lightweight title challenger Michael Chandler is confident he can inflict a defeat on current division champion Islam Makhachev early next year.

"A fight against Islam would be awesome. Islam doesn't want to fight guys he's already gone into the octagon against, he wants new blood. And I'm just that kind of guy. I think I have the perfect style to beat Makhachev. Good old, passionate and hard-working American wrestling always beats Dagestani sambo. I have dynamite in my hands, amazing cardio, I can build momentum, I can beat up Islam.

I believe I will fight Islam in early 2025. I really think Makhachev will run over Arman Tsarukyan. I want to make Islam look like the most dangerous man on the planet and then I'll take his throne," MMA Fighting quoted Chandler as saying.

As a reminder, Chandler will fight Charles Oliveira on November 16 at UFC 309 in New York, USA.
