Sterling has pulled out of the fight against Yevloyev
Aljamain Sterling was forced to withdraw from his scheduled fight with Movsar Evloyev at UFC 307 due to an injury suffered in training.
The former flyweight champion, who now competes in the 145-pound weight class, broke the news in a video posted to his YouTube channel.
"Unfortunately, I have to break the news that I will not be competing at UFC 307. I suffered a non-surgical injury during sparring, but the UFC medical staff informed me that I would not be able to recover for the tournament.
I tried to recover as best as I could with the [UFC Performance Institute] team here, and unfortunately it's out of my hands now. I apologize to Movsar and his team. I was looking forward to punching this guy in the face."
