UFC CEO Dana White has made it clear that he's willing to consider promotion champion Alex Pereira's idea of returning to the middleweight division for a title fight with Dricus Du Plessis.
"I think Pereira is just unbelievably awesome. That's what I think of him. He wants to go up to the heavyweight division, he wants to go down to the middleweight division - he wants to fight everywhere. That's why people love him - they love fighters like that. Alex wants to fight everybody, I like that.
Everybody loves Alex, he's great, and that gives us a lot of options for picking opponents. It's good to deal with a guy like him. He was on vacation and took the fight at the last minute - how about that? Fans love everything about this guy," MMA Mania quotes White as saying.
Recall that Pereira will defend the bantamweight belt against Khalil Rountree on October 5 at UFC 307 in Salt Lake City, USA.
