UFC middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis called out the career highlight of his next opponent, former titleholder Israel Adesanya.
"The whole world knows that he has made great strides in the sport. But it is unlikely that he will be able to set some more records for title defenses or winning streaks, because Izzy is not young anymore. In my opinion, the win over Alex Pereira is his greatest accomplishment in martial arts. He managed to beat someone who had beaten him himself several times in a row. And I think that after beating him Izzy was ready to leave the sport. You could see it in his eyes," Du Plessis said in an interview with Hello Sport.
Recall that the fight between Du Plessis and Adesanya will headline the UFC 305 tournament, which will take place on August 18 in Perth.
