"They gave big money." The American was offered to fight Whittaker instead of Chimaev

Undefeated UFC American middleweight Bo Nickal said he was offered to replace the injured Hamzat Chimaev in a bout against former champion Robert Whittaker.

"I did get the call. Unfortunately, when I got the call, I was in the mountains and there was no cell phone service. Three days later I was back online and I saw the messages, 'Call me back, call me back.' But it was too late. I won't disclose the numbers, but I was given a lot of money for this fight," said Nickal on his YouTube channel.

Recall that Whittaker and Chimaev were supposed to fight at the debut UFC event in Saudi Arabia on June 22, but the latter dropped out due to health problems. As a result, the new opponent of the Australian became Ikram Aliskerov.
