On June 1 at UFC 302, Makhachev defeated Porier with a choke hold to defend the promotion's lightweight belt.
"I worked hard on it with Khabib, Islam and other guys. You can't spend a lot of time being on your opponent's back. People spend too much time on their opponent's back because they know how to protect their neck in that position. But it's necessary and important to change positions from back control to mount. You have to rotate, you can't 'fall asleep' on your opponent's back," Rockhold told Jaxxon Podcast.
