Former interim UFC lightweight champion Dustin Porier admitted that he injured his ribs during training camp for his bout with full belt holder Islam Makhachev.

"Yes, I injured my ribs in training camp. I didn't want to talk about it because the fight has already passed and I don't want to change anything.

My wife wanted me to withdraw. But I didn't agree. There was too little time left before the fight, I was already halfway through training. I told myself that I have to wait until the fight, because it's a title fight. It's a lightweight title fight! To withdraw? Not an option," said Puryear on the air of the show MMA Hour.

Recall, on June 1 in the main event of UFC 302 in Newark, USA, Puryear lost to Makhachev by choke.
