Makhachev is ready to move up to middleweight for a title fight

UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev said he's ready to move up two divisions for a championship fight with Dricus Du Plessis.

"The middleweight champion is also very versatile, a good fighter, with skills. We would have a good, competitive fight. I know I have a good chance for a second belt," MMA Mania quotes Makhachev as saying.

Recall that last weekend Makhachev defended his title for the third time, defeating Dustin Puryear by choke in the fifth round. The fight was the main event of the UFC 302 tournament in Newark, USA.
