Oliveira explained his reluctance to fight Gatji

Former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira revealed why former interim belt holder Justin Gaethje won't be his next opponent.

"Is Gatji planning on resting for at least six months? He's doing the right thing. There's no point for him to fight to prove anything else. You should only fight when you're ready for it. But I don't want to take a break. I'd like to fight early. So I don't plan to wait for Gatji, he doesn't fit into my plans," MMA Junkie quoted Oliveira as saying.

Recall that Oliveira and Gatji held their last fights at UFC 300 - the Brazilian lost by split decision to Arman Tsarukyan, and the American was knocked out by Max Holloway.
