UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev has spoken out about the latest fight of his closest rival Dustin Puryear.
In early March, the American knocked out Benoit Saint-Denis in the second round, earning another title shot.
"In his last fight, Porier gave a good performance. Saint-Denis is also a high class fighter, with good wrestling, with good grappling, but I think the fight with Dustin was a burden for him. I think the key was Puryear's experience. He started the fight slowly, waited for this guy, and when he got tired, he finished him," - quotes Makhachev New York Post.
Recall that Makhachev and Puryear will fight on June 1 at UFC 302 in Newark, USA.
