Chisora named the only opponent he disliked

Derek Chisora, a renowned British heavyweight known for his uncompromising and flamboyant nature, candidly spoke about the strongest personal irritant in his long career.

In a recent interview, the 42-year-old boxer admitted that the only opponent who genuinely evoked negative emotions and dislike in him was David Haye.

“The only person I actually didn’t like was David Haye,” Chisora said. “It got to the point where I couldn’t calmly think about him. But one day my former advisor told me outright, ‘Derek, stop looking at David as an enemy. Look at him as money.’”

According to Chisora, these words literally overturned his consciousness in a second.

“The anger vanished instantly. I thought — he's right. This is business. And shortly after that conversation, we did indeed meet in the ring.”

Recall that the culmination of their feud was a fight in July 2012. At that time, David Haye confidently won by technical knockout in the fifth round, dealing Chisora one of the most painful defeats in his career.
