British heavyweight Derek Chisora was extremely outspoken about the potential fight between former division champion fellow countryman Daniel Dubois and Chinese knockout artist Zhang Zhilei.
The promoter of both boxers, Frank Warren, recently openly stated that he sees the Dubois-Zhang match as one of the most explosive and commercially attractive fights in the heavyweight division for 2026. However, Chisora views this prospect with considerable skepticism and even with outright concern for the young Brit's health.
"It's very good for Daniel that he's working with Don Charles again—it's the right move. But against Zhang Zhilei? No, for heaven's sake, that's not going to happen. Zhang will just knock him out. I directly asked Frank Warren: 'What are you trying to do—kill Daniel?' Give the guy another fight, let him recover properly first," Chisora stated.
