Three weeks ago, news emerged of separate fights featuring Anthony Joshua (29-4, 26 KOs) and Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs), which were supposed to lead to a clash between the former heavyweight champions.

As of now, it can be tentatively said that the injuries Joshua sustained in the car accident, in which two of his friends and colleagues died, were minor, and he has already been discharged from the hospital. The same applies to Kaiode Adeniyi, the driver of the car. Nigerian police have charged Adeniyi with four counts, including dangerous driving resulting in death. Adeniyi was released on bail of 2,578 pounds. A hearing on his case is scheduled for January 20.

Thus, Joshua likely did not sustain serious physical injuries. In what psychological state he will be in a few weeks remains unknown.

Fury, on the other hand, remains in good psychological shape, possibly even better than physical. He took a break from boxing and now claims that he's drawn back to it, although he's gained a few extra pounds during this time.

The 'Gypsy King' recently released a short video of his sparring with Kevin Lerena (31-4, 15 KOs). The South African southpaw now holds the WBC title in the bridgerweight category. Rumors previously circulated that Fury's first opponent upon his return would be Arslanbek Makhmudov (21-2, 19 KOs).
