Chisora explained why Joshua could not knock out Paul earlier

Dmitriy Kel Dec. 25, 2025, 7 a.m.

Former heavyweight title contender Derek Chisora shared his thoughts on Anthony Joshua's victory against Jake Paul.

"It was a matter of time. AJ did what he was supposed to do. Forget everything else. I was one of those who said if the fight goes beyond two rounds, we would have questions. But you know, the ring was too big, damn it.

Jake didn’t want to fight. He was trying to wrestle with AJ. Joshua rightly said: “I will empty your soul, and then knock you out.” He broke Paul’s damn jaw," Chisora said.

Let us remind you that on December 19, Joshua defeated Paul by knockout in the sixth round at the main event of the boxing evening in Miami.
