Former WBC heavyweight title holder American Deontay Wilder spoke about a potential fight with current unified division champion Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.
"My heart was racing, and not just because of the mere possibility of a fight. It's about the very chance. The fact that Usyk looks at me and says: 'I want to fight you.' It doesn't matter what the reason is — Oleksandr said he wants to fight me. And that's very important for me.
I was never given big opportunities. If there was anything, it was trivial — and I had to make my own way. But this is a huge opportunity. It's about the chance to win championship belts. I won, and after this fight, I will be in a contender's position. Next year will be very important for me. And when this fight happens — it will change my life. I will shock the world again," said Wilder, quoted by Ready to Fight.
Let us remind you, Wilder previously confirmed that his representatives are negotiating a fight with Usyk.
