Undefeated Argentine Kevin Ramirez (12-0-2, 4 KOs) won a unanimous decision victory over significantly larger Bosnian Ahmed Krnjic (7-1, 4 KOs) in the final of the WBC heavyweight tournament in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. After eight rounds, the judges scored the fight 78-74 and twice 77-75. The tournament was held at two-month intervals starting in April.
Next, Ramirez plans to continue his career in the cruiserweight division and aim for a championship title. Until 2025, the Argentine fought as a cruiserweight and never weighed more than 90 kg during his first nine professional fights.
The victory brought Ramirez prize money of $100,000, as well as a place in the top ten of the WBC heavyweight rankings. "This is a dream come true," Ramirez said in an interview with DAZN, where the tournament was held.
