The Zuffa Boxing project, created by Dana White, will hold its first event on January 23 in the USA. This was announced by Mark Shapiro, president of TKO. Event details are expected to be officially confirmed soon.
According to the statement, the new organization plans to hold 12 to 16 events per year. Regular tournaments will be supplemented by major "super fights," such as the recent fight between Saul Alvarez and Terence Crawford.
The project is being implemented in collaboration with investors from Saudi Arabia. They will be responsible for logistics and financing, while Zuffa will handle television and online broadcasting.
Around 200 boxers will participate in the project, competing in a special format reminiscent of the "Contender Series."
