Lerena must defend the title against Merhy

The World Boxing Council (WBC) world champion in the weight category up to 101 kg Kevin Lerena (31-4, 15 KO) will meet in his next professional fight with Ryad Merhy (35-3, 29 KO), who was officially named the WBC title challenger.

This meeting will be a rematch of their May 2023 fight, when Lerena won by unanimous decision. The WBC also scheduled a world title eliminator between Andrew Tabiti (22-2, 18 KO) and Chris Terziewski (14-1-2, 11 KO).

The interim WBC world champion in the weight category up to 101 kilograms remains Krzysztof Wlodarczyk. “Diablo” won the belt in May, knocking out Adam Balski.
