When asked by the host about the pressure and the "All or Nothing" stakes for him personally, former world champion Joseph Parker (36-3, 24 KOs) maintained his composure but made a firm declaration:
"You'll see. You'll see on Saturday night. I don't really want to explain it with words, I'll explain it in action... I know I'm going to win this fight. I know I'm going to win this fight. I respect my opponent and what he's done in his career and how he's prepared for this fight, but I'm the former world champion, and I'm still ready for the next one. I'm ready for Saturday night."
Fabio Wardley (19-0-1, 18 KOs) quickly dismissed the idea that Parker is on a different level, framing the constant criticism as a recurring motivation throughout his career.
"The separation between levels and where Joe is and where I or where people think I am is... it's been a common theme for me throughout my career, to be honest, it's nothing new that I'm hearing," said Wardley.
Wardley, who is known for his explosive punching power, stated that he will rise to the challenge once again.
"Every time I step up to a new level, it's always 'this is the step-up fight, this is the step-up fight,' and then I obviously come through or win and then, 'okay, what's the next step, he's the step-up fight.' So for me it's nothing new... I look forward to stepping up, proving people wrong, proving the doubters wrong and showing that I am very much at the top level of this division," he concluded.
The two heavyweights will finally settle the debate in the ring this Saturday night.
