Rising Star Threatens to Disrupt Gervonta Davis vs Lamont Roach Matchup: "I'm Coming for Both"

Roach isn't wasting time dwelling on the canceled Davis fight. He's moving forward and sees Stevenson as a great option for his next opponent. In a recent statement, Roach laid out his thoughts:

"I think aside from the rematch, the best fight for me and the best fight for the division is against Shakur Stevenson. To be honest, he said he would take the fight between him and me. We definitely sat down and said: we'll do it for sure. He's a competitor, he wants to prove he's the best. He doesn't really have any favoritism. We'll fight each other."

Stevenson seems just as eager for the matchup. When asked about the potential fight, he responded with confidence:

"Same champion mentality. If this other fight doesn't happen, we'll do it, brother."

While both fighters are showing interest, nothing's set in stone yet. Roach made that clear when he addressed the situation with Davis and his future plans:

"It doesn't seem like it's happening. That's just to be clear and transparent with everyone. So that's what it is, and that's what it looks like. Again, we haven't heard from his team specifically yet, as far as business is concerned. As far as my future is concerned, we move on. We can't just sit there and drag our feet."

As for Davis, his current plans remain unclear following the fight cancellation. The boxing world will be watching closely to see how this situation develops and whether Roach and Stevenson will indeed face off in the ring.
