Moses Itauma and Dillian Whyte are set to face off in a big heavyweight clash this August. The fight will be a big test for the young Itauma and a chance for Whyte to get back in the mix.

Tyson Fury gave his thoughts on the match-up in an interview with ProBoxing Fans. He sees it as a good opportunity for Itauma but warns not to count out Whyte just yet.

"It's a good fight for Moses, it's a very good time to fight Dillian, he's had a couple of years out of the ring. Make no mistake, Dillian Whyte is a massive puncher to the head and body. I know he's taking it very seriously. I've been speaking to Ty Mitchell who's in training camp with him and I'm looking forward to the fight."

Fury points out that while the timing might be right for Itauma, Whyte's power is still a big threat. He's also heard that Whyte is putting in the work to be ready.

At just 20 years old, Itauma has racked up 12 wins in 12 fights. He's been on a tear lately, scoring three KO wins inside two rounds in his last three outings. The young boxer even got some sparring in with Fury for the champ's first fight against Oleksandr Usyk.

Whyte hasn't been as active lately. His last big fight was against Fury back in 2022. Since then, he's had three fights, picking up wins against Jermaine Franklin, Christian Hammer, and Ebenezer Tetteh.

Fury sees the fight as a real step up for Itauma:

"It's a big step-up for Moses because he hasn't really fought anyone on Dillian's level, though the old Dillian was a couple of years ago. It's gonna be interesting to see how much Whyte has left. Could this be similar to what Martin Bakole did to Jared Anderson? Maybe it's too early, maybe he passes with flying colours. And that's why you've got to watch it and find out."

The champ also had some good things to say about Itauma's skills and attitude:

"One thing I will say about Moses, he's a good fighter, he's a good boxer. He's like a sponge, you tell him something and he absorbs it, he listens. He's only 20 years old."

A win for Itauma could fast-track him towards world title contention. But he'll have to use all his skills to overcome Whyte's power and experience. It's a classic matchup of youth versus experience that's sure to deliver fireworks.
